Shon Kon Ray was a Jedi Master of the Old Republic who served the Jedi Order in the Clone Wars. When the war broke out and the role of the Jedi Knights was redefined to incorporate generals of armies and leaders of troops, Shon Kon Ray took to the new role with zeal. With long brown hair, which he kept in a ponytail, and a matching beard, Jedi Master Kon Ray led his troops into battle numerous occasions.

During the Battle of Brentaal IV, Shon Kon Ray teamed up with Jedi Masters Shaak Ti and Plo Koon to engage the Separatist commander Shogar Tok. Unfortunately, the intelligence for the mission was severely lacking. The Separatist forces were much stronger than the intelligence for the battle had indicated. As Shaak Ti led the forces on the ground and Plo Koon oversaw the operations from orbit, Shon Kon Ray took command of the aerial operations. However, the Separatist ion cannons severely limited the gunships from achieving their objective; many ships were lost during the siege.

As Shon Kon Ray commed both Shaak Ti and Plo Koon to inform them of the Separatist strength, his own gunship was hit by an cannon and blown from the sky. Another casualty of the Clone Wars, Shon Kon Ray had become one with the Force.
